Company tobacco history
In 2019, AT&T purchased Time Warner and created its new WarnerMedia unit, contributing 18 percent of AT&T's revenue. WarnerMedia adopted a revised version of Warner Bros.' long-standing tobacco depictions policy. Despite having this policy on the books, Warner Bros. films of all ratings have featured nearly 2,000 tobacco incidents and delivered 16.6 billion tobacco exposures to domestic moviegoers since 2015. WarnerMedia films and original shows with smoking will now be found on AT&T's new HBO Max streaming service, which gives no warning of their toxic tobacco content.
